Located in the heart of the city, lies one of Munich's most exciting and dynamic locations: the Creative Quarter. Over the next few years, the former Luitpold Barracks will be transformed into a unique urban mix of living, working, art, culture and science. This 200,000-square-meter area offers unlimited opportunities for collaboration, exchange and inspiration. Right in the middle of it all: the Munich Urban Colab.

Innovations don't just appear out of nowhere. They need cooperation and co-creation across disciplines and industries, a creative environment and space for experiments. As integral part of the Creative Quarter, the Munich Urban Colab benefits from the numerous studios and open workshops, as well as the design studios, theaters and concert halls.

The Creative Quarter is divided into four core areas, allowing for a strategic allocation of spaces for living, working, art, culture, and science. Creative Park, Creative Platform, Creative Field and Creative Lab form a testing ground with plenty of space for new ideas.

The Creative Quarter brings together people who, at first glance, may seem to have little in common. But it is this diversity that allows completely new and surprising perspectives on technological, social and entrepreneurial issues. Through our close link to the Creative Quarter, we want to help you find the right sparring partners for your ideas and projects.

The area between the districts of Schwabing and Neuhausen already contributes significantly to the creative heartbeat of the city—it is home to the independent scene. Institutions such as Pathos München, Import Export and Dok.fest München are pioneers with their productions, concerts and festivals, and are known far beyond the borders of Munich. In the coming years, the development of the Creative Quarter will unleash unprecedented momentum and creative energy.

Where great ideas blossom: a green oasis for the Creative Park

We have to admit, there isn't much to see yet when one looks out from the north side of the Munich Urban Colab — except for a large construction pit. But that will soon transform into a vast green corridor. The planned Creative Park will feature spacious lawns, several playgrounds and numerous small sports facilities, forming a natural connection between the long-established and the new areas in the Creative Quarter. Covering a total area of two soccer fields, it will become a place for recreation, networking and creative breaks. The creative park is also intended to be an enrichment for the residents of the Creative Quarter.
